Gender role passes down

“God lay Adam down to sleep and took a rib from his side. From the rib God created a woman, Eve, to be with Adam.” It is so obvious that from a long time ago, people have already shaped their definition of gender roles. Being created by god and born from a rib of Adam, Eve, was a part of Adam, which also indicated women should subordinate to men. Freud posed that we should not trace everything up to ancient time but never look back to one’s childhood. However, gender difference must be something we must look generally and separately. Although in earlier period of mankind, the men and women’s social division of labor has already appeared, the real division of sex inequality is established in the privately owned system. Thus, the ideology of this gender division have been passed down generation by generation.
