For a Film and TV Production major, I really don't watch enough TV. My first thought of Freud in pop culture, though, was in an animated series I watched recently called Full Metal Alchemist. The main character Ed exhibits a number of Freudian traits.
Oedipus: After his mother's death, he spends a lot of time and effort trying to bring her back to life. After he accepts this is not possible, he begins to have affection for the next closest female from his childhood.
Penis Envy: I do know that Freud talked about penis envy as a reason for girls to desire men, but I'm not sure whether or not it covers male penis envy, or compensation. Ed shows this trait in that he gets extremely angry whenever anyone comments on his short height, and feels the need to show off his strength.
