In the Spirit of the Grammys...

This post is more related to the concept of the class as a whole and the current male-supporting ideology that is so pervasive in our culture. This op-ed is written by a former entertainment writer's blog about the Chris Brown/Rihanna domestic violence debacle, now that Brown is officially allowed back into the Awards ceremony as both a performer and nominee. It discusses celebrities' reactions to the assault charges two years ago, the fact that the UK refused to give Brown a work visa because he was the "victim of a serious crime" (yay,) but that here in the US he is painted as a victim for being barred from the music world, and how celebrities critical of him were forced to publicly apologize. What message does this send to our women?
