Freudian Psycho...logy
Freud's theories may not be relevant, but he still accomplished a fairly difficult thing in hypothesizing the existence of underlying causes for our actions. Living in upper-class nineteenth-century Vienna, his perception of society was clearly incomplete and left plenty of room for improvement, of course; but we must credit him for giving us the concept of "psychoanalysis" where none existed previously. While we can safely reject most of his ideas as unscientific and even discriminatory--with good reason--we would be wrong to reject him out of hand, or to dismiss a new theory simply for having Freudian background. Freud's psychoanalysis may not be that "psycho" after all.
