Biology and Ideology
The difference between the terms sex and gender is that one is define how one is born biologically, and the other is how society and one person define themselves.Biology and Ideology used to go hand in hand in the older days when old technology and old ideas are help create society norms. Women, in the past, because of their ability to bear children, have less strength, are more constrained to stay indoors. They were not encouraged to work, to leave the house without their man, and etc. With their purpose of having children for men, women are looked down when compared to men. Over time, as technology advances, it starts to revolution the ideologies in the newer society. For example, when birth control was first introduced, it revolutionized the idea of having sex for making babies. Women started to have less responsibilities to bear children. When looking at the present time, with very technology, we start experiments with gender changes, even having men bear children. With this said, we have become a lot more open minded, and society has put less restrictions on the gender and sex. Because of changes in technology and ideology, I don't think biology necessarily define a person's sex anymore. Now I feel that the word sex and gender may possibility intertwine and have the same meaning because of these changes.
