Oedipus Complex

I learned about Freud back in high school when I was a Junior.  My teacher said that he pretty much relates almost everything to sex, which is quite true.  Freud says that thumb sucking is for sexual arousal, but I find that a bit weird.  I can see where Freud is trying to go when he says that but I'm sure many people thought that he was crazy back then.  However, one of his theories is very true, which is the Oedipus complex.  I can relate this into my early childhood days as a boy because I told my mom that I would marry her and no one else.  There was a big bond between my mother and I because my mom was a housewife and she always stayed home and took care of my brother and I.  The only woman I cared about was my mom and I was protectiv of her, even as a little boy. Now that I am older, I don't want to marry her but I was just trying to show a great example of one of Freuds theories.
