Biology V Ideology

It is known that men and women do differ biologically, however, these differences have been stretched because of society and the ideologies that have been created throughout time. It is because of these ideologies that men and women roles have been what they been. It is normally the man who is the bread winner, the hunter, and the protector, while women are expected to be the care giver and nurturer. When biologically these roles could be reversed, it is possible for women to do what men are expected to do or vice versa. It is interesting to think when and why these ideologies were created. It could have easily have been the other way around, and we would have been living in a society where women are the bread winners and men are the care givers.

  1. I totally agree with you, David. It is so true that the differentiation in social status between the two genders is created by the society in people's mind. On the other hand, biologically females can play the role that males are playing today, such as the ancient time where the society was in the form of matriarchy.
