Wollstonecraft:a vindication of the rights of women
I was most impressed by this essay, which forces me to think about whether women have the same rights and strength as men. I hope that I could say "yes" to this question, but at present, unluckily, at least in this passage, the answer is obivously "no". I strongly agree with Mary's idea that female was misled by male to sacrifice their strength, maturity and ambition in order to gain the beauty that men like. This so-called beauty only weakens women, who eventually are inferior to men, losing their ability to be independent as they fail to become human beings, regardless of sex. Apparently, men do no wish women to be masculine, to be as strong as men so that they can no longer control female. However, I hope that women can throw away those soft phrases, immature mind and sentiment, instead, to equip themselves with the ambition to be masculine, just as Mary claims in her introduction. This will help female to gain equal rights and strength.
