response to Sojourner Truth "Ain't I A Woman?"

Of the multiple manifestos we looked at in class, I would have to say I was most inspired by "Ain't I A Woman?" by Sojourner Truth. The main take away message that I got from reading this manifesto was that Sojourner questioned the white men who did not consider her to be a "woman". This manifesto was not  only about gender, but also race. If Sojourner Truth had been a white woman she would have never been a slave, or worked in a field. She not only touches on the lack of women's rights but also the extreme  lack of "negroes' rights". After reading this account I also thought about how it was the white man in the first place who put her into the position of not being a woman. But did the white men at the time consider the negro women to be "women"before being forced into slave labor? Because Sojourner was so over worked in slavery she did not have the delicate appearance or features that a typical white (non-slave) woman at the time would have. However i wonder if this attitude existed before any of the women were forced into slavery as well.
