gender roles

I have always been interested in the idea of gender roles in society. I believe that Gender roles is a role that something that one choose to have. Femininity and masculinity, are roles that are define by society, however I also believe that some of these gender traits are given to us when we are born; we, however are the ones that choose if we want to act in that certain way or not. An example of this is when, little boys would tend to act more violent than little girls.

Furthermore, in the Music Video "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. She tries to explain how in some ways people are born to the way they are and didn't have the chance to choose to be what they what to be. Because of this we should not discriminate them because its not something that is controllable. As stated before I believe that who we are today is a mixture of the traits that we are born with, mixed with the role that we choose for ourselves. With this said, I also don't agree with discrimination because its something that uncontrollable, plus the decisions that were made has nothing to do with us as outsiders.
