A Vindication of the Rights of Woman

From my observation over years, I would ascribe my point of view to Wollstonecraft’s “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman” because it is so true that the society forces its culture of females being inferior, weaker, and appearance oriented to every new born baby. Every human is born to be a human, whether it is a male or female, and there ought not to be scales existing in between. No matter where this culture originated from, such irrational thinking and acting should be terminated.

I especially like Wollstonecraft’s parody of flowers. I agree with the society that females have the right to dress prettily, do make up, and act in a gentle way if they want to; on the other hand, I suggest that females also have the right to obtain a mature wise mind and be decision makers like men do. Indeed, the flowery image of female is just a social norm similar to the business look of businessmen. Businessmen wear business suits in order to look professional even though they might not meet that level of professionalism or even being unethical. Similarly, under the outer layer of feminine appearance, many females in nowadays are tough or even fierce. While some mothers may dominate their husbands and the whole family, they still wear heels and put on lipsticks. Over centuries of revolutionary, we can see that gender equality has improved a lot since from 1700s.
