Don't ask where am I from

The six words I choose is ' Don't ask where am I from'. Being as an international student I've so many times asked somebody where are you from?
Or they expected and assumed that where I originally come from.
Why is it matter where I comes from? I understand it would be great to know each other; however, sometimes it could be a racism. It is inquire about the makeup of their's ancestry. People should meditated that we live in the united people and united states.

  1. I totally agree! But, I think there are two sides to this: On one hand, people might ask that question out of pure interest and curiosity. They want to know you better as an individual, and since our origin is something we cannot shed, it is sort of like our identity. The problem, however, is when people have the tendency to assign stereotypes to people based on where they come from or how they look like.
