I should eat like them!

If there's one thing that is influencing the eating habits of teenagers, it would be the glorification of celebrities' diets, particularly in the Korean entertainment circle. I came across several articles on celebrity "show-down" on who has the smallest waist. It seems that having a 21-inch waist is highly sought after among the female celebrities. They also love to reveal their secret 'diet-plans' which indirectly instill the idea that people should eat like them to have figures like theirs.

While there might be some diets which are healthy and seem sufficient to keep one alive, but there are many that seems out of hand. Seriously, 1 cucumber for dinner?

  1. Well, Patsy, I would not suggest you to have one cucumber for dinner as we are still young and need a lot of nutrition. However, I do believe that those diet plans are sometimes real and helpful for certain people, especially those consulted by doctor. For instance, one of my relative is seriously overweight and has high blood pressure, so her doctor makes her a meal plan of two and a half cup of pure water boiled pumpkin for dinner while any meat or wheat is prohibited. Those diets that are described as "extreme" can be real but not applicable for everyone.

  2. Thanks for the insight, Kam Weng. However, those celebrities are perfectly healthy, and they do that to look good in photos and the mini outfits they wear for their performances. It does make sense in a way to control their diet, but taking it to the extreme end seems a little over, I think.
